Arrival & Parking
Basel is easy to reach. By air, take one of the many international airlines and land at Euro-Airport, a 15-minute drive from the Waldhaus. You can reach Euro-Airport or nearby Zurich Airport from all European airports and from over 200 intercontinental destinations.
Basel is also a central transport hub in Europe and also offers excellent connections via its three main railway stations. The Waldhaus beider Basel is located 15 minutes by public transport from the SBB station, in the middle of the Hardwald forest on the Rhine near Muttenz.
The way to the Waldhaus by car
At the Weil am Rhein border crossing, follow the A2/A3 to Muttenz, take the Waldeckstrasse exit towards Birsfelden/Schweizerhalle/Auhafen.
Drive on A2/A3. At junction 6 - Hagnau junction, take the right lane and follow the signs for Muttenz. Then continue straight on towards Birsfelden. Turn left towards Birsfelden (please use the right lane). Take the exit on the right towards Birsfelden/Schweizerhalle. At the roundabout, take the first exit on the right (Hauptstrasse 7/Route 3/Route 7). After approx. 900m turn left into the forest. The Waldhaus is at the end of the road.
From Liestal (A2/A3):
Follow A2/A3 to Muttenz, take exit on Waldeckstrasse in the direction of Birsfelden/Schweizerhalle/Auhafen.
Straight ahead on A2/A3. Use the right lane to take exit 6-Basel-St. Jakob onto A18 towards Basel/St. Jakob/Birsfelden/Delémont/Muttenz. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Birsfelden. Continue on Waldeckstrasse. Take the exit towards Birsfelden/Schweizerhalle. At the roundabout, take the first exit on the right (Hauptstrasse 7/Route 3/Route 7). After approx. 900m turn left into the forest. The Waldhaus is at the end of the road.
The Waldhaus has plenty of parking spaces in front of the house (not protected from the weather). You may park your car with us free of charge.

How to get to the Waldhaus by public transport
At the SBB railway station take tram no. 8 (direction "Weil am Rhein"), no. 10 (direction "Rodersdorf") or tram no. 11 (direction "St. Louis Grenze") for one stop to "Aeschenplatz". Alternatively, you can reach Aeschenplatz in 5 minutes on foot.
At Aeschenplatz take bus no. 80 (direction "Liestal Bahnhof") or bus no. 81 (direction "Liestal Bahnhof") and get off at the bus stop "Muttenz Waldhaus". From the bus stop, follow the road into the forest. At the end of the road you will find the Waldhaus beider Basel.
